Adam: What were you thinking? He told us not to touch that very tree.
Eve: I was seduced.
Adam: You mean you had no control over your actions? Because you were “seduced” doesn’t excuse you from responsibility. I don’t even know what the word “seduced” means.
Eve: Well, first if all, I wasn’t sure He was talking about this tree. I mean all trees look alike…right?
Adam: Of course He meant this very tree. He pointed it out to us and gave us specific instructions to not eat its fruit.
Eve: The beautiful snake said that God is just trying to keep you from being like Him. He said if God is so selfish and fearful He surely cannot be a very good god and what He says isn’t necessarily so. The snake was very convincing in that.
Adam: You know He knows, don’t you? What shall we say to Him… “Oh, God, we thought you were just kidding?” Or “we just forgot…please excuse us this one time and we won’t do it again?”
Eve: That’ll work.
Adam: Ya think?
Eve: I don’t want Him to see me like this.
Adam: Like what?
Eve: Naked.
Adam: What do you mean?
Eve: I feel so exposed and vulnerable and embarrassed. Even in front of you. I need to cover myself and hide before He comes.
Adam: Ok. How about we get behind those palm leaves? Maybe grab some of these leaves and cover our bodies so He can’t see us.
Eve: Just remember we’re both in this together. You are just as guilty as I am.
Adam: I was seduced.
